Why .gov.ng matters

Every genuine federal institution uses a .gov.ng domain. If a website asking for payment or personal data does not end in .gov.ng, treat it with suspicion and verify it here first.

Every institution has a permanent identifier such as FGN-MDA-000001C. The final character is a check character, so a mistyped identifier is caught immediately.
